I Got A Home in That Rock: Journey to Salvation

In an immersive exhibition in USC Roski School of Art and Design’s Lindhurst Gallery coming in Fall 2020, Macomber Prize recipient Domia Edwards journeys to her mother's hometown of Ardmore, Oklahoma.  I Got A Home in That Rock: Journey to Salvation uses this town as a source to remake the white cube into a domestic and spiritual space, collapsing the exterior and interior spaces of private and public life exposing the internality of Black American experience, where family relations, identity, and spirituality always intersect with issues of race, politics, and class.
